Wade in the Water: Live | The Spirituals (Official Music Video) Christplus 110 Views • 3 years ago

"WADE IN THE WATER" is the first song from our EP: Black History Project: OUT NOW ON ALL STREAMING PLATFORMS: https://www.thespiritualsofficial.com/

Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/album..../5ETzZjl4e0CcHbjzI5u
Apple Music: https://music.apple.com/gb/alb....um/black-history-pro

Originally released on TBN as a powerful tribute to songs that have marked monumental
moments in black history, music and culture; singer/songwriter, Junior Garr and choir conductor, Marsha B. Morrison, navigated The Spirituals Choir in a time of great uncertainty to give a message of hope.

“This is a collection of negro spirituals and songs that have inspired and championed the story of black people. With all that is happening in the world today there has never been a better time for the power of music to bring us together. This is a commemoration of not only our breakthrough and achievements but also an acknowledgement of the continuous pain and sorrow experienced by Black people today. We must find a way to foster and fight for the justice and equality of Black individuals everywhere. Justice and the good news go hand in hand.” - Junior Garr

Lyrics:

CHORUS:
Wade in the water we dey
Wade in the water children
Wade in the water,
God said He’s gonna trouble the water

VERSE ONE:
We are the sons and the daughters
We gotta stand up and make it loud
Just like our God told the Pharaoh
Let my people go (go)

We are a new generation
From the ones who have gone before
He’s calling us out of bondage
Let my people go (go)

CHORUS:
Wade in the water we dey
Wade in the water children
Wade in the water,
God said he’s gonna trouble the water

VERSE TWO:
We are the sons and the daughters
We gotta stand up and make it loud
Just like our God told the Pharaoh
Let my people go (go)

We are a new generation
From the ones who have gone before
He’s calling us out of bondage
Let my people go (go)

We no go shy no go shake
E be our Papa God wey he make the heavens
If you no say you no want trouble
Let my people go (go)

The blood sweat and the tears
That we’ve gathered through the years
If you no say you no want trouble
Let my people go (go)

CHORUS
Wade in the water we dey
Wade in the water children
Wade in the water,
God said he’s gonna trouble the water

Yolanda Be Cool & DCUP - Soul Makossa (Money) (Wongo Remix) - Time Records Makossaplus 109 Views • 3 years ago

"I'm not sure what just happened...but I know I had a good time."
