Verse 1
Once there was a very very speedy hare (speedy hare)
Once there was a very very speedy hare (speedy hare)
She would brag from near and far
That she was faster than a car
Oh yes, one time there was a very speedy hare (speedy hare)

Verse 2
The plucky tortoise said to Hare, “Let’s have a race,” (have a race)
The plucky tortoise said to Hare, “Let’s have a race,” (have a race)
“If you’re so fast in running shoes,
Then there’s no way that you can lose,”
Oh yes, the tortoise said to Hare “Let’s have a race” (have a race)

Interlude/Chorus
Fast and slow, fast and slow!
Who will win? Let’s watch them go!
Down the road, around the tree!
Who will win? Just wait and see!

Verse 4
The lagging tortoise very slowly crawled along
The lagging tortoise very slowly crawled along
Since the hare so quickly sped,
She had by now run far ahead
Oh yes, the tortoise very slowly crawled along

Verse 5 - drink of water
The speedy hare felt very sure that she would win (she would win)
The speedy hare felt very sure that she would win (she would win)
Since the tortoise hadn’t caught her
She sat down to drink some water
Yes, the hare felt very sure that she would win (she would win)

Verse 6
The little tortoise kept on inching down the road
The little tortoise kept on inching down the road
He passed by the resting hare,
Who kept on sitting, unaware
Oh yes, the tortoise kept on inching down the road

Interlude/Chorus
Fast and slow, fast and slow!
Who will win? Let’s watch them go!
Down the road, around the tree!
Who will win? Just wait and see!

Verse 7
Determined Tortoise nearly reached the finish line (finish line)
Determined Tortoise nearly reached the finish line (finish line)
The sleepy hare got up and ran
As fast as speedy quick hares can
Oh yes, the tortoise nearly reached the finish line (finish line)

Verse 8
Yes it’s true that slow and steady wins the race (wins the race)
Yes it’s true that slow and steady wins the race (wins the race)
Oh yes the hare was very fast
But even so, she came in last
Oh yes it’s true that slow and steady wins the race (wins the race)

LES TETES BRULEES BIO:
Their career began in the 1980s after their first visit to Cameroon TV in 1987, the Heads Brulées enter into legend. Their music takes ancestral rhythms bikutsi but brought up to date in a much style electric guitar thanks to Zanzibar. Their eccentric costumes, their half-shaven skulls and white paint on the body they are quickly becoming the most famous bikutsi group in Cameroon and in the world. Still, many critics and fans of the genre only accept their hard pop and electric kind.

The group is formed by Jean-Marie Ahanda joined by guitarist Zanzibar (Epeme Theodore). Zanzibar is known for his way to ring his guitar like a balafon by attaching a rubber foam on the bridge of his guitar. The death of Zanzibar in 1988 threatened to end the band. The group is the new member which can record new songs and remake albums.

The Burnt heads is their first album, with only the bikutsi. The texts are engaged and targeted many social problems in Cameroon.

The group toured throughout Africa, Europe, the US and Japan. During the French tour in 1988, the director Claire Denis, who noticed them in Yaounde, decides to go with them on tour. It draws a movie: Man No Run. The group also supports the national team of Cameroon during the World Cup match against Italy.

The group of trumpeter's son is none other than Mr Ice, A member of The Young And's group.
