Premièrement, prier au nom de Jésus ne réside pas dans la répétition d'une formule magique. Cela signifie demander des choses que Jésus lui-même pourrait approuver, des choses qui sont en accord avec son caractère, sa nature, et sa volonté. Rappelez-vous, Jésus a toujours prié des prières que le Père pouvait approuver, et nous sommes appelés à suivre cet exemple.
Deuxièmement, prier au nom de Jésus, c'est reconnaître l'autorité et la puissance contenues dans ce nom, un nom que Dieu a élevé au-dessus de tout. Chaque nom par lequel Dieu s'est révélé dans l'Ancien Testament est encapsulé dans le nom de Jésus - qu'il s'agisse de Jehova-Jiré, l'Éternel qui pourvoit, Jehova-Rapha, l'Éternel qui guérit, ou d'autres encore. Prier en son nom, c'est s'adresser à Celui qui détient tout pouvoir et toute provision.
Enfin, prier au nom de Jésus, c'est s'approcher de Dieu non pas sur la base de nos propres mérites, mais sur ceux de Christ. Nous venons à Dieu en nous appuyant uniquement sur ce que Jésus a accompli pour nous à la croix. C'est seulement par ses mérites que nous pouvons demander et recevoir.
Le nom de Jésus est puissant, et comprendre la profondeur de ce que cela signifie de prier en son nom peut transformer notre vie de prière. Il n'est donc pas surprenant que ce nom soit tant attaqué. Mais plus nous avons de révélation sur le pouvoir de ce nom, plus nous sommes équipés pour vivre une vie de foi victorieuse.

I went on my first solo backpacking trip to get a taste for what it's like, and I wanted to share the experience! It was a short and sweet trip - perfect for testing out all of my brand new gear, and getting a feel for what I'll be able to do in the future.
